Another valuable lesson learned today:
If you have spent 3 or 4 months doing long slow runs in preparation for a marathon, don’t run in the dad’s race at the school sports.
And if you do, don’t try and sprint it in jeans and a tee shirt.
And if you do, don’t complain that your hamstring is very sore afterwards.
Your wife will think your an idiot and your kids will ask you why, after all the running you do, you didn’t win.
Or come second,
I think I was fourth.
