Reflections of war

I’ve been to the D-Day beaches twice.

Since the ‘War on Terror’ started I’ve noticed that they’ve (The Americans)  ‘done it up’ a bit.

If you’re wondering what I mean think about how the house used to get totally re-decorated for the stations and add a bit of Spielberg magic and you get the drift.

It’s all gone very Band of Brothers.

Still, if the message is to convey the human cost of war and the peace it achieved then it works.

The memorial is behind some sort of laminated glass – hence the blurred reflection.
